Kynthia commissioned Four to make a fetish out of her rifle scope so it could use Sense Wyrm.
Four agreed with the concept but objected to the object in question; you have to point a rifle at someone to look at them through the scope, and you shouldn't be pointing your weapon at someone till you know they are your enemy; Four believed any Gaian spirit would object based on this.
So, Four went and overdid things in her own style. She got a pair of Google Glass type smart glasses and modified them. She upgraded the camera and installed the programming for a high-tech computerized rifle scope. The glasses have mundane (if fancy) technological features as well as spiritual power features.
Four-Eyes - Level 2 Fetish, Gnosis 6
Tech Features (These work without activating the Fetish; they are technological in all aspects)
Bluetooth: The device can attach to bluetooth devices securely.
Scope: The 'Scope' aspect of the camera has multiple features. Since it is not attached to her gun, it won't help her aim, but the glasses have a low profile so she can fire with a normal scope without removing the glasses.
*Zoom- The camera has a 20x zoom, allowing the user to see in enough detail to read a license plate up to 1,000 feet away. This is cntrolled via voice command or by buttons on the side.
*Rangefinding- The camera can estimate how far away a given object is. -2 difficulty to Perception rolls to determine this.
*Wind Speed- Te camera gives a readout of local wind speed wherever it is pointing.
Glass: The 'glass' aspect of the glasses does the more mundane but more complicated tasks. It displays data over the right eye (4k display), which may lead to a Perception penalty when using them extensively. Any feature marked with (App) means the user must have the glasses connected to her phone via bluetooth or a wired connection. The voice commands only respond to the owner or someone doing a very good impression of their voice, though the spirit may make an exception for someone it knows is a friend.
*Buttons- The buttons on the legs are cleverly disguised as a simple raised pattern molded into the metal.
*Camera- The camera, which is located at the upper right corner of the upper right frame, is virtually undetectable. The low-profile chrome frame of the glasses help hide the small two-way mirror that covers the camera, making it look like nothing more than a plug that covers an unsightly structural detail - there is a dummy of the same mirror on the opposite side. The microphone and antenna are completely concealed in the right leg of the glasses. The camera and microphone are always on, streaming to a secure cloud server (which will probably be locked in the caern vault). No video or audio is stored on-board. The user cannot disable this, but may be able to talk the spirit into doing so at GM discretion.
*Snapshot- The camera can also take pictures with the press of a button on the side. These are uploaded to the server.
*Augmented Vision- The glasses can switch to a few vision modes; these are functional but civilian-grade. There is a night vision mode, and an infrared mode (regular, not thermal vision). There is also a high-clarity black-and-white mode that increases the visibility of fine detail by 50% at the expense of color, which can be used to increase range or accuracy of vision. These can be activated via voice command or scrolled through with a button.
*Internet (App)- The user can voice-command the glasses to operate the phone's internet browser; the results are displayed on the right lens.
*Call/Text/Email (App)- The glasses show Caller ID when the user gets a call, text, email, or other such message. Incoming calls can be answered via voice command or by pressing a button on the glasses; other messages can be brought up for view with a voice command. Outgoing calls can be made & outgoing messages composed & sent via voice command.
*Reverse Image Search (App)- The glasses can do a reverse search on any picture they take, helping to identify faces and logos and such from information readily available on the internet.
*App Usage (App)- the glasses are suitable ti display and voice-command any app on the phone, such as the GPS app or games or social media.
Fetish Features: The user must bond to the fetish to use these, and activate them on a per-target basis. A cat-spirit is bound to the glasses for these purposes, and demands that the glasses be treated with the utmost respect as well as cleaned at least once a day, even if they are not dirty.
*Sense Triat, Gnosis 5: Looking at an individual or surveying an area, the user rolls Gnosis, difficulty 5. Success brings up a display of three bars; red, blue, and green; each ranging from 0-10. Each bar fills to indicate the presence of Wyrm, Weaver, and Wyld taint at the target. 0 is none, 2 is roughly normal, and 10 would be something worse than a Rank 6 Black Spiral Dancer. Anything worse than THAT is also a 10, based on limitations of the device; extreme taint (Over 9000??) may break the lens, but this can be replaced and does not destroy the fetish.
*Sight of the True Form, Gnosis 7: Looking at an individual, object, or location, the user can roll Gnosis 7. Unlike the murky hints of Scent of the True Form, the lenses clearly show what the target is - though it doesn't come with a name, so if the user does not recognize what they are seeing it does not identify it for them. The glasses can also see through illusions or glamours cast over an area, if properly targeted, as well as identify objects as fetishes or fetters or otherwise supernatural. Note: This ability does NOT extend to the camera, so any video or photos will only show what the mundane world sees.
BONUS: Talen time!
The Golden Screw; Level 1, Gnosis 10.
The Golden Screw is what it says; a tiny eyeglass screw made of solid gold. It fits (a bit crookedly) into a hole on the inner edge of the right leg of the glasses, and cannot normally be seen. If an outside agent attempts to 'hack' the glasses; to get into the phone, or determine the source of the signal, or any such unauthorized intrusion, they must roll Gnosis at difficulty 10. Failure means a few things. First, the lenses with with a very visible warning that a breach is being attempted. In case that is not enough, the screw will then destroy itself - the few grams of molten gold on the side of their head are sure to alert the user. Finally, the connection to the cloud server is shut down before the would-be intruder can learn anything about it. Note: Four's tech is not easy to hack and only a successful defeat of all her mundane defenses activated the Golden Screw.
